I do, but it just sits there. Sometimes the universal remote bumps it on, and I just hate that, but live with it.

Hahaha... yep! How else would I watch The Grinch, Charlie Brown's Christmas and The Muppet Family Christmas? And don't say "On DVD"... to get the full experience, it needs to be on a raggedy old VHS tape with commercials for Osh Kosh and Kate and Allie interjected every 15 minutes or so! :P

Yes. I've got lots of tapes I still would like to see and I don't want to and possibly couldn't replace them all with DVDs. I like tapes. They are simple and reliable.

Indeed, I actually just looked away from the computer monitor to check that it was still set to tape a program.

They still work well. My partner and I are in the dark ages with an old analogue TV, no access to digital TV, no pay/cable TV. We do have a DVD player, but it cannot record.

We do. But it's broken. We're still trying to have it repaired. But we are having a hard time looking for some parts, I think they're no longer available.

Yes, I have a VCR, and I use it most days for my daughter or for taping/replaying things from the TV. I just got three video tapes (Beauty and the Beast, Lion King and Little Mermaid) from the thrift shop yesterday, and will continue to use VCRs and VHS tapes indefinitely.

Looks weird seeing an old VCR and a nintendo Wii next to eachother! Who would have thought!!!

Did this answer your question? If not, then ask a new question or create a poll.

You're reading Do you still use your VCR? - which can also be phrased in the following ways:

  • Do you still own a VSR? If so how often do you use it?
  • Do you still have a VCR player?
  • When was the last time you used a VCR? Do you still have one connected to a TV?
  • Do you still use a vcr? i do. i use it to tape soaps whenever i can't catch the repeats on soapnet. if i get a dvr and it skips while recording, i will have to blow up the directv headquarters. so, i stick to the vcr. it's always reliable.
