I have a ford van 302,1993 here in the last year ,while you was driving it the oil presser would drop to zeroand start knotting i would pull over stop and shut the van 0ff and then start it up again and it would be ok for awhile

    Had the same problem with a Ford Explorer, it was sludge in the oil pan, inturn, when the engine was running the oil pump would pull the sludge from the pan and clog the screen to the oil pump, when the engine was off, the sludge would settle back into the pan. This wont get better for you, try running an engine flush, change oil and filter. Good luck
