Why do people who have blonde hair when their younger, their hair gets darker when they get older? (and don't say they get smarter and less dumb everyone knows that's a stupid saying that blondes are dumb)

i dont know really, its strange. when i was little my hair was full on blonde, and got darker as i got older, and ive been trying to deny its blonde for months now, cos i was fed up of the jokes, but then i looked in the mirror yesterday, and thought shit, my hair looks brown. i think i prefferred it blonde =/
