I've dealt with a lot of patients who've had this surgery. This is a very simple operation, BEN DAN. As I'm sure you already know from experience, it's the anesthesiologist who needs to know thier stuff, not the surgeon. Even the aftercare is simple and straightforward. Please rest your head about this one. If there was anything to be nervous about I would certainly tell you the truth.
I've never gone through anything like that but I want you to know that you will be in my prayers and thoughts. Your body has really taken a beating huh? Let's hope that this is the last operation for you. Sending you (((hugs))) and love from me, Terri
um..just ow
sorry that I havent had this operation but I wish you the best of luck nonetheless.

Just wanted to say good luck and my thoughts are with you!!! I don't know anything of the specifics, but I did want to send you positive wishes :)

You're reading I am having (more!) surgery on 07 April...this time at least 2 abdominal hernias that were caused when I was so ill a few year ago and was having major seizures and tore open my abdomen wall...anyone else have this operation? Any advice?

thanks phillis I appreciate it...Do you have any idea of how long I will be 'out of commission' for gardening etc...they don't know whether it is just day surgery or overnight surgery at this point...I'm guessing a week or two before I am able to do simple chores requiring a lot bending. Is that about right?

I'd look at two weeks, but I'd go with 3 to be safe. It isn't just the skin that has to mend back together, it;s the musculature, too, which has a different structure to it than skin does. They have a few layers of stitching to do.
