I am not sure I know anymore. I speak to my wife in Spanish, to my son in Portuguese, to my brother-in-law in German and to my co-workers and friends in English.
I am confused.

I think that would refer to the language of your native country. Your first language.
Sometimes it can refer to the language that your language derived from.
I think that is why some consider Latin the mother tongue.

Since you ask in English, it is English. "Mother Tongue" would not have meaning in another language.
