absolutely...that is exsisting to me, not living and I prefer not to be a worrisome burden to my loved one..I have such stipulated in my living will
-
Yes, please.
-
Yes most definatley. There would have to be some of my organs that would benefit others and the cost of keeping me in that vegetative state would be better spent elsewhere.
-
Yes. If a machine is the only reason you are "alive", are you really alive? Once you're that far gone, just because your heart is still beating doesn't make you a living person.
-
Yes, its just costing them more money and I'd be miserable, it would be a torture for me and them, most definetly. they would feel bad because I was in there and I won't be able to live, just sit there until I die, like a box of twinkies in a fatpersons cupboard (no offence)
-
Yup, I believe in survival of the fittest, for myself that is. If I have to rely on technology to be still living, it's not worth it. Plus i wouldn't want my family wasting that much money on something that has no hope.
-
yes, we have discussed this and all agree to pull the plug if neccesary.
-
Of course
-
Yep.
-
Yes...Thats not really living.
-
No! They are going to pay to keep me alive! That's the whole meaning of life: not dying! Plus, they wouldn't be pulling any plugs either way. They wouldn't give up that easily...would they?
-
Yes ,without a doubt.
-
Yes please. I know it wouldn't be an easy decision, but if they knew that it was permanent and irreversible, then I'd want them to let me go. There is no point in them hanging on to my useless body, and no point in wasting all the money and resources keeping it alive when there is no chance that I'll come back. No body should be kept alive like that.

Yes, absolutely, and I have a Living Will that says so. The Living Will also specifically refuses artificial nutrition and hydration in those circumstances, and it permits "comfort care" via painkilling drugs until life ends. I also have a Durable Medical Power of Attorney which says who gets to make the decision. My Living Will also SPECIFICALLY mentions the Terri Schiavo case, and SPECIFICALLY denies standing to ANY politician or group which might try to intervene in the case to interfere. If I had any goofy relatives who might try to interfere, I would have named them and SPECIFICALLY denied them standing, too. You can get a Living Will form for practically any state by looking in Google. This might help explain the concepts further, but the links at the bottom of the page are pretty worthless for finding a copy relevant to your state: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Living_will

no way, it's my turn to be a burden
-
yes.
-
I carry a medical directive that only allows me to stay on life support for up to 14 days.
-
Yes. This is only my opinion for me.
-
Heck yeah. Permanent vegetstive state, that is no life, no brain activity what-so-ever, no hope. I would rather see what happens after death instead of having my muscles slowly decay and drool all over.
-
Yes. I've had family members in that state and I wish they would have made that clear in their wills because I hated seeing tham like that.
-
Hell yes. I don't want to be alive if I can't LIVE. Even if i was still aware of everything around me, I would want to die if I couldn't be a part of it.
-
Yes, it would be the only dignified way to treat me.
-
Yes, I wouldn't want to "live" that way. And - It's not really killing yourself since someone esle is pulling the plug.
-
yes absolutely. Either I am already gone and there is no reason to keep my body functioning..or my soul is trapped and needs to be released.
-
yep. this is an entirely personal decision. pull it!!! i wouldnt want my kids to see me like that, i would want them to remember me as a the young, beautiful, vibrant mother they know, not a vegetable. to each his own.
