I'm afraid to ask, but what's that clicking sound I keep hearing (about every half hour or so) inside my computer tower?

Possibly one of two things. There are some multi speed power supplies that have a fan, operated by a relay, that will kick in a higher fan speed as temperature inside the case/power supply box rises. The click can be the sound of the relay engaging.
The other possible noise source is a hard drive spinning up. Even if your PC is idle, a hard drive can become active for housekeeping purposes. If it is the HD and this is only happening occasionally, there's nothing to worry about, same with the power supply relay but if you're beginning to hear many constant clicks and the PC is idle (no background processes running), you might want to use a hardware utility from your drive manufacturer to determine the health of the drive.
