The dark depression? lol
The Great Depression didn't happen on a single day. It lasted about a decade or so.
Even the stock market crash didn't happen on a single day, but I guess you're thinking of "Black Tuesday"? That's the day the stock market fell the most, but really the crash started on the Thursday before (imaginatively called "Black Thursday" ... and there was also a "Black Monday" in between the Thursday and the Tuesday).
I don't think the name would have been changed it if it had fallen on Halloween. I suppose it could have been called "Black Halloween."
