Yes, the changer needs to be hooked up to a head unit (radio).
Check the instructions to see whether it must be a Blaupunkt, or if you can use another brand (in case you don't want to buy Blaupunkt).

You're reading If you have a Blaupunkt CDC-M5 compact disc changer do you need a Blaupunkt radio to interface with it to make it work? The changer mounts in the trunk or under the seat if you have room, so it is isolated from the dash, and there are no controls on it.
