How is it that the Nephites in The Book of Mormon were good Christians and practicing Methodist/Presbyterians 100s of years before Christ?

Neither do I. I have a replica edition of the First Edition 1830 BoM and I'll take it over the POS modern version that the Missionary's hand out and that is sold in Book Stores any day of the week and twice on Sunday (literally on the latter)!

And you're right. If it was, as Joseph Smith said, "The most correct book . . . " then why were ANY modifications required?
