Why does Squall always dream about being Laguna? Are they related to each other in some way?

What's Cooler? White Magic, Black Magic, or Blue magic? I'm leaving out red magic since it's just a combination of black and white.

That's the part I hated the most too. I was like, that's damn convenient, lol.

Seriously; I was in love with the game before when it was about being a SEE-D. I thought it was going to be a more adult FF; and then it just got weeeeird.
by BlahJay on March 28th, 2008
In tone, it was kinda more adult than FF7.
by Halskiisaklink on March 28th, 2008
In tone yes, but in content, Squall was kinda immature. And so was seifer lol.
by Symbeline on March 28th, 2008
Cloud was just a pain, though. Cliched at times, obscure at others. And Barret was like a less manly version of Mr T.
by Halskiisaklink on March 28th, 2008
By adult I meant more focused around straight war and politics, as opposed to a group of tweens saving the world from some supernatural power.
But definitely the tone, if not adult in my opinion, was much darker. (Which I guess is comparable with adult)
by BlahJay on March 28th, 2008
And it wasn't so much a supernatural power it was a tie-in to the FF concept of magic.
by Halskiisaklink on March 28th, 2008
Maybe that's a bit besides the point; Regardless what I really want to see in an RPG of a Final Fantasy scale would be a true war between two forces without the player character being the end-all solution to the problem.
Rather than an end boss-fight I would love to see like an end battle much like the beginning of FF8 in Dollet.
by BlahJay on March 28th, 2008
It's not about you, though, it's the artistic vision of the creator (which, unfortunately, was ruined by awful voice acting in FF10).
by Halskiisaklink on March 28th, 2008
Well you asked for my thoughts, which are exclusively about myself.
by BlahJay on March 28th, 2008
In a way I agree with you BJ, but at the same time, it has such a good story that it just makes you that much more connected to the characters. Thats why it may seem more sappy and what not. It was I think the last true good final fantasy game, 9 was pretty damn good, but after 10 they started to go down hill quite a bit, then 10-2 came out and made me want to break my PS2. Then 12 came out and introduced a completely new battle system, which apparently people didnt like. But the fact that you have complete control over what you do makes me think that maybe they have finally been able to revamp themselves and maybe they will bring out more games
by kurtj13 on March 28th, 2008
What was so bad about 10-2? (I haven't played it)
by Halskiisaklink on March 28th, 2008
You know Kurt, the more I think about this the more I realize how much I truly liked FF8.
I mean, the Ragnarok was pretty kick ass, as was that floating monolith that I cannot remember the name of, Pandora something.
And I mean you did get to stop nukes.
by BlahJay on March 29th, 2008
The idea of hopelessly floating through space was awesomely moody. I was literally in awe when I saw what happened.
by Halskiisaklink on March 29th, 2008
the story in ff 10-2 was just pretty lame, i just couldnt get into it. i thought it was going to be really cool because of the all female cast, but in the end it just made me hate life and lose most faith in the final fantasy series to come.
