thanks! how much do you think short-term immersion would speed it up? for a relatively close language. (german, for a native English speaker who also speaks Spanish, but little else)

I can't really give hard numbers on this. English is strange because although it's a Germanic language, it derives at least half its vocabulary from romance languages. I've heard great things about immersion camps, but nothing definitive in terms of numbers.
