Help answer this question below.

I dance ballet and 3 yrs ago I sprained my second toe (the one next to my big toe). The pain is where my toe meets my foot and the pain will sometimes shoot through the center of my foot. What would be the best way to tape it for dance class?

    Personally I would tape from the ball of the foot up to the toes and then use the big toe as a support.

    It is always best to tape your feet anyway if you are doing point work.

    An injury that is still giving pain three years later is cause for concern and you should seek a medical opinion.

    pain three years later? you should probably see a doctor about it. i dislocated my big toe once, and after it was put back in place, i had a pinched nerve (leading to pain shooting through my foot). perhaps you have a pinched nerve. one way to fix it is to manipulate the joint by pulling on the toe and rolling it a little (provided it doesn't hurt).

    as far as taping, that's hard to do. if you are trying to keep it from movement, tape it to your big toe, and wrap the tape all the way around your foot (just below the toes) to keep the tape in place.

    if it is a pinched nerve, this probably won't help. you should really see a doc.
