Gap coverage is required and should cover the difference.
There is no way for us to know if you have GAP ins. Best thing to do is look at your papers from when you bought the car. If you have it, it will say so in them. Unless you have GAP then as far as I know you are the one who will pay the difference.... sorry.

You're reading I was in a car accident 2 weeks ago, the other driver is at fault. my car was a total lost. Now the car appraisal done by my insurance is 10,000 less than what i owe on my auto loan. who will end up paying the difference? I do have GAP
