Help answer this question below.
The common solution is to get a wireless router from your local computer store. It will plug into your cable modem (or whatever device you have for Internet access), and it will fill your house with wireless signal. You'll give it a password, so that only you can use it. Then, you'll go to your laptop and run a wizard that helps you set up the connection, and you'll go through the Wii setup menus to give it the password too.
Along the way, you'll need to learn a few simple things, but it's not too tough and the documentation for the router and the Wii should suffice.
Without knowing the specs of your laptop, I'd say it's a question of budget.
At minimum, an 802.11G wireless router.
If your laptop supports it and you have the extra $$$, go for an 802.11N.
I like Linksys, but I have more particular needs that need special customization on my network. I'm sure there are some user-friendly routers out there with GUIs.
