  • How about "GLOBAL GULLIBILITY" or "GLOBAL IQ RECESSION!"?
  • Out of the 2, planetary overpopulation. I don't believe in Global Warming, it's all politics and bs masquerading as science. EDIT- Thanks for the feedback guys. The climate is changing, of that there is no doubt, but the question refers to the global warming, the theory that it's all about carbon and it's all your fault. That's the bit I don't believe in. Yes there is a case for it, but there's also a case against it, and in my view, the case against is the most compelling. Maybe if the politicians, environmentalists and journalists would shut up for a wee while, we might get a chance to hear what the scientists have to say about it. (The IPCC, loudly trumpeted as the worlds 2000 top scientists, only has about a dozen scientists, the rest are environmentalists and civil servants whose job depends upon propogation of the myth).
  • World overpopulation is a huge problem -- maybe potentially bigger than global warming. BUT they are separate problems. If we could magically cut the population in half, that would bring temporary relief to CO2 dumping by burning fossil fuels -- but sooner or later there would undoubtedly be increased per-capita energy use until the problem returned at its present level. The permanent solution is to develop better (i.e., cleaner, 'greener') energy sources.
  • The problem of anthropogenic climate change is NOT a population issue, it is an energy consumption issue. The United States has about 6% of the world's population, yet those people are responsible for about 25% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, there are many countries (Japan, Sweden, etc.) that have a quality of life similar to the US, but with much lower per-capita energy consumption. We can live in a sustainable future, we just need the political will to make it happen. . . .
  • They should read: "Bullshit, Bullshit... the planet only seems overpopulated because the richest 10% own 90% of it. If the other 90% of us weren't so busy fighting over monopoly money, we wouldn't be in this situation"
  • How can you cry Global Warming when it's 20 degrees in the middle of March? That's not warm.
  • I think it should say 'Beware Humans'
  • Planetary overpopulation. Sustainable carrying capacity of the Earth is 2 billion for a reasonable standard of living. Sustainable means replenishment of soils, maintained levels of biodiversity, along with all manner of other benchmarks. Now there may be a lot of denial or inability to accept this stark warning, but nature will reduce our numbers (as it does with any other organism that overpopulates) with a sharp crash. Estimates suggest from 2020 - 2030 a sharp reduction in population due to excess deaths from famine and ecological breakdown, only balancing at around 1 billion after an 80-90% reduction in our numbers. The implications are shocking, but we must look at the issue.
  • Overpopulation is not a problem...yet. However, if left to their devices, the Fundies will soon turn it into one more
  • I think most of the problems today stem from overpopulation and greed.
  • Global Scare Tactics at Work! The planet has a warming issue - it's called the sun. The planet is not overpopulated by any means -- we have a food and materials distribution problem.
  • Both actually. We are already over budget for resources on the planet. Both problems are incredibly important at this time though.
