Slim to none. His race was enough of an obstacle, but if he were a Muslim I expect we would have seen all sorts of conspiracy theorists coming out of the woodwork. It is my understanding that Americans have a strong bias against people of the Muslim faith (or any other religion besides Christianity), and fundamentalists would probably have called his entire moral character into question. It's sad really.

After 8 years of the reign of terror of King George, Karl Marx himself could have probably become president of this country if he had run on the Dems ballot. Now, it's not as if the Right Wing Nuts didn't do their darnest to make the Muslim label stick to him

hell i thought he was muslim..... well apparently americans didnt really care, seems they've kinda forgotten about the 9/11 attack, no offence to muslims but after that incident we should be suspicious
