No. do not hire an attorney. This will cost you dearly. Go to court. first time offender will make you qualified for the defensive driving class. Do the class. once completed, your citation will be dismissed as though it never happened. No points on your drivers licens. no insurance hike. The class costs around $70 dollars, but thats much cheaper than paying for an attorney.

From my experience (in PA) fight the ticket. A first time or non-repeat ticket will many times be dropped to a non-point ticket. Pay the fine and be on your way.

Forget the lawyer. Go to court and plead guilty and ask to attend the defensive driving course. once you complete the course, your citation will be dismissed and your insurance company will not be notified. 98% of cited drivers go this route. Its the cheapest and the best way.
