  • You can't. Bleach does not stain. It removes color. The damage is permanent.

Sorry, you can't remove bleach.....it removes stains from many fabrics but often removes the color too. If the carpeting is relatively new, I'd call a firm like our neighbor used to own.....they can come into your home and dye your carpeting. It's not cheap, but some of what I saw he did was very nice.

Cover it with a piece of furniture.. a rug? There is nothing you can do to reverse the process.

Bleach Stains are exactly as the name implies. Stains are caused by any permanent color change. Stains can be either caused by added color or missing color. If the color change is not permanent then the spot is not a stain.

Bleach stains are very easy to repair with the correct knowledge. Common sense would tell us that in replacing the missing color, we should use the same type of dye that was originally there. Rite dye should never be used. Other forms of dye may make repairing the carpet more difficult after finding that these do not work. The correct dye should be carpet mill dye.

A person may contact a professional. Many carpet cleaners offer this service. You may also consider repairing the color yourself, by contacting companies that sell dye kits.
If you use either a professional or do it yourself, you need to ask a few questions.
Ask the company what type of dye they use. This is important as some companies may use a quick fix with a dye stick or crayon. These tend not to be accurate and may not be permanent.

Another important question that should be asked is in regards to the process. To find out if the process is accurate, ask if a white or an off-white carpet can be repaired. When the answer is no, this is a good indicator that the person is using a color matching method. This method is more accurate with darker colored carpets, and less accurate with lighter colored carpets.

The correct method is to use the same type of dyes originally found in the carpet. Only the missing primary colors are used. These are added gradually until a color match is arrived. This method can repair any color whether it be light or dark.
If you ask these two questions, you should have almost a perfect match whether you repair it or have a professional do the work. I hope this helps.
