Any wages that are POST-tax are included in box 1 of your W2. AND that amount needs to be tracked very carefully so that you do NOT pay tax on it again when you take it in retirement. Federal Civil Service has post tax retirement in addition to the government putting in some retirement money; the 1099 R issued now shows a gross distribution and a taxable distribution as the individual's POST tax money is included as a little at a time (recovered over a specified time period).
