Hand them a cushion and tell them to put it over their lap to muffle the voices...? Seriously there isn't really a polite way to tell anyone to shut up - try "give it a rest"

Please shut up, thank you.

Hold that thought...where's your restroom?

Unless you are in a position of authority over this person, there is no polite way to say it. My Dad used to tell us kids "Put a cork in it" when we were disrupting his TV shows.
-
Would you tone it down for a moment please.
-
I don't know how to say it politely, but it does not sound rude when you say it in arabic... "its good" seriously... that means shut up in arabic
-
I'm all like, please forgive me if I gave you the idea that I actually wanted to hear anything you had to say.
-
You can just excuse yourself. Otherwise you are being rude.
-
Shut up works for me.
-
Shut your pie hole. You're making my head explode with your verbal diarrhea.
-
say "Good point!" (even if none is made - it'll give them pause)...then walk away and/or give the floor to someone else...
-
the polite one would be "Can you hold down for a minute" or "Kepp it down".. But i usualy say "shut the hell up" to their faces..
