All though you might need to check your TCPIP settings and insure that both are set to obtain automatically, if you are able to use AIM I suspect your firewall is blocking the internet. To check this run your mouse over the icons on the lower right hand site of your computer by the clock. If you see an icon like Norton Internet Security or Zone Alarm right click on it and choose disable or shut down, then try the internet. I suspect it will work fine, if not then it is a browser issue and the easiest thing to do is reset the browser by going to tools, Internet Options then advanced. At the bottom of the window there is a button that will say Reset, press it, then apply and ok. If some pages are opening and not others after you have recet the browser and disabled the firewall then you probably have spyware on your computer rather then a virus. If you don’t have a spyware program on your computer you could use SpyWare Nuker. The annissial scan is free so no need to spend any money if spyware isn’t the problem. http://www.nuker.com/info/evn/?hop=hoarem I hope that you are able to resolve the issue what ever it is with out having to go to a computer store.
goto the control ponel, click on network connections and then right click on the wireless connection and select properties,
then from the list of items the connection uses select internet protocol (tcp/ip), click properties and make sure both the IP address and the DNS servers are set to obtain automatically.

You're reading I have a wireless router in my house. My computer will conect to AIM and other programs that use the net, but it can not open any webpages. It just says, "website found. Waiting for reply..." Other computers in the house can get webpages. Any suggestions

I disabled the firewall and reset the browser. Now it opens some web pages and not others. It will open google, and I can search on google, but then I can't open any pages from google. All the pages I regularly visit will not open, facebook, livejournal, twitter, answerbag etc., but thess pages open fine on my mother's computer that uses the same network. It is all very weird. I am sure I have run a virus scan since this started, but I will try that again.
