If the Pope wants to use a condom, that's fine with me.

No, of course not. As much as I'd like to be generous about the Catholic Church's intentions, it's hard to avoid noticing that their resistance to birth control yields significant benefits in membership, as the overwhelming majority of Catholics are born into the faith. Could that conceivable affect their stance on the "moral issue" of birth control? Hmm....

It would be nice if concern for the health of humanity as a whole were weighed slightly more valuable than the prospect of millions of new "converts".

Of course I don't. The pope probably doesn't approve of much of anything I do with my penis (let's just see....premarital sex, masturbation, oral sex, anal sex, condom use).

I don't let some man tell me how to have sex. I don't care who he is. Just because he leads the Catholic church, wears a purple or white robe or smock and has a crown or something funny on his head doesn't mean he's God.

Only for Catholics who want to follow it. That's their business.
    .
For the record, the Pope doesn't tell people to not use condoms, he tells people to only have sex if you're married, and then only with the person to whom you are married. So those who practice that are far less likely to get AIDS than the promiscuous who do use condoms.
    .
He also thinks people shouldn't have sex unless they are ready to have more children.* This is something I'm less wild about but honestly, it's how things used to be and it's not the end of the world for practicing Catholics.
