  • I searched Google, and from what I can find, he was just half goat and half nymph... if you want to look for yourself, search for "pan in mythology." you should get some good hits.
  • I am not sure what you mean by the "trainer of Heracles", but Pan was not an animal at all. He was later (in the Hellenistic period) associated with satyrs, while technically he was goat on the bottom and human like on the top he was a very specific type of immortal. He was often found with Dionysos and his band of drunken revelers. He was ultimately a shepherd and the guardian of all flocks.
  • None of the myths I am aware of call Pan the trainer of Heracles. However, Chiron the centaur (half man, half horse) was the teacher of not only Heracles, but also other famous characters such as Jason, Achilles, and Asclepius.
