  • I believe it's none of those reasons. I believe the real reason is priviledged information considered "top secret" at the highest level, and we are to follow blindly into a world of confusion because that took us right out of the depression we were in prior to military action. War is the best medicine for a faultering economy.
  • We where lead into war by a government that had engaged in "group think" about WMD's in Iraq. Contracitory evidence was ignored.

  • More to do with the 1st that the 2nd, but really the war was unjust and should never have started in the first place. If the USA was short on oil, then why not build smaller cars? It sounds stupid, but in the UK, when there was major oil shortages in the 70's that's what we did, which is why we still have smaller cars to this day.

  • none of the above there is plenty of oil in US waters, iraqi oil is easier and cheaper to convert into gasoline
  • Bush was trying to build a legacy. Instead he has built just about the worst reputation of any American president. Those of you who disagree are not in sync with mainstream America, and that's ok, just so you know.

  • It was neither. The war was started because Iraq started to accept euros for payment which would have led others to do so and that would have caused the collapse of the U.S. economy.

      This was reported at the time. Saddam bragged about his newfound independence. It was also payback for the attempted assassination of Poppy Bush in Kuwait.
  • For an oil pipe line across Iraq. I read this a short time ago. Some groups didn't want the pipe line.
