I don't know what your personal impression of 'American women' is. They're not all the same, and maybe you live around some very loud aggressive types. There's no excuse for bad manners for anybody, no matter what their gender. Women should be no more or less docile than the men they are having to deal with. And vice versa.

If anything, we should speak up more! There are plenty of social injustices going around to keep us busy for years.

Some of them, yeah, though I imagine it applies to some men as well. Docile: easily taught, easily led or managed There's nothing wrong with teaching a female something, nor is there anything wrong with leading a female, just like there's nothing wrong with doing the same for a guy. When it's in their best interest, and it is difficult, it's a waste of time. There's a difference between independence and overt obstinacy. Independence in my opinion is a virtue, obstinance sometimes is not. There's a time to learn, and a time to teach, a time to lead, and a time to follow. Some of these women want to only teach and lead, even when not appropriate to the circumstances they are in.
