I'm not American but when we had Trudeau in power he was very charismatic and popular. I thought it was great. Now we have a real dull one.

Obama is treated like a celebrity, and that can't be helped. He doesn't act like a celebrity, he's just in the spotlight so much that he is sometimes viewed as one.
-
Yeah that is what the press wanted.

I don't think Obama acts as much like a celebrity as the media seems determined to portray him as a celebrity. I think it's a symptom of our time, where people prefer "reality" television and seem unable to accept the fact that most important things wind up being humdrum and boring. Tech stocks, green energy, housing boom = exciting. Paying off your credit cards, savings accounts, waiting until you can afford something before buying it = boring. We are paying the price for our "entertaining" choices. I hope Obama doesn't wind up being a bad choice. But charisma and buzzwords (Hope, Change) won't get much done in the real world.

I agree he does act like a celebrity. When he gives speeches he seem so self-complacent. Of course the media plays a huge role to make him a celebrity too. We all know it. 3+++ to you.

I definitely agree he acts like a celebrity. You can say he is only treated like one and doesn't play the part, but he is totally absorbing and LOVING that spotlight. You can see it in his eye.
