Why is it that calling something "old school" seems to infer that it is something that is no longer of any use or no longer acceptable?

It could just be the younger people lack experience and knowledge and dismiss such things as false like they are fools or something.

Because tried and true are not respected by todays standards. You can easily replace the key words in that statement and it will still answer the quwstion.

I wasn't aware of that inference. When I hear the term used it's usually used in the sense that it's better, somehow. More reliable or efficient. That's just my perception of it though.

I find that "old school" is sort of a compliment and a term of respect.
