Because they've never had Samuel L. scream it in their face. He's good at getting a point across.

I don't. I tend very strongly not to believe things I don't have proof for, but not to the extent that I won't change my mind if the proof presents itself. It's why I classify myself as an agnostic rather than an atheist, though I don't believe in God. I don't know for sure, but until I get some definitive information, I'm choosing to believe what I can see.

I wish I knew why some of you think half of what you do

The same reason I imagine some people think the absence of proof is proof that something exists, because they can.

I totally get where u are coming from popanna. The problem with some of it is though that if you don't have evidence for something, all you can do is believe that it exists, or hope. Heaven is a good example. There is no evidence whatsoever that there is some place out there in the exterior world that we as individuals go to after we die, this is a metaphysical assumption that cannot be experienced. In short, it's a myth. "God" on the other hand and Consciousness can be directly experienced in a like fashion first-hand by anyone. Proof is an empirical science concept that is ultimately only a coherence in and of itself. There is no such thing as real proof, because the very nature of reality is infinite. I only put faith in things that i know and can experience, therefore i have no hope in going to a place called Heaven when I die. My body will dissintigrate and I will return to my primoridial nature of everpresent nothingness (probably). I think we might be meant to learn how to live here in this place having hope in ourselves and God's Creative Mind moving through us. Life itself is an impossible miracle, so who's to say there won't be another one right here on earth, or that we can at least use our imaginations to create something way better than what we have now. We find it in ourself.

Most people who think that way tend to follow "seeing is believing"...
