Help answer this question below.
Most anything to do with nature. Could be a landscape scene, animals, insects or birds. I enjoy getting up close to butterflies to try and capture as much detail as possible. Whatever sells, adds money to the household budget. Also planning on starting a website up real soon. My wife seems to think books of different subjects might be an interesting marketing plan, but I don't see it yet. :-)
Good Q! +
People, mostly, then things, haven't traveled that much lately to photograph different places.
I recently went on a flower snapping expedition around my garden (Yeah I know, really exciting stuff!!) ; )
I will maybe update this answer with some of those snaps later.
Family/friends exclusively. The background is always irrelevant..the ocean, a restaurant booth, a sofa..they always fade away and what I focus on are the smiling faces of my loved ones. That's it! That's all there is as far as I'm concerned! :)
Mostly my girlfriend or cars when I go out to the car show exhibitions.
Everything,but I especially like birds,bugs and animals.
Kids! They're so natural and aren't afraid to smile at you when they notice the camera. You'll never have to stop and wait while they touch up their hair, pose, etc, they'll just toss their arms around each other and give you some really wonderful shots. I love taking pictures of adults with the kids too, the adults act more natural when they pose with a child. Scenery is also great to photograph and you can revisit the scene whenever you want.

You're reading What do you love to point your camera at (photograph): people, places or things? Why?

Aaaaahhh .. photographing what you love AND finding ways to bring in some income? Excellent. You're planning on licensing those original images, I take it? Since you're not talking of hooking up with an existing stock photography outfit and instead, putting up your own independent site .... will you also provide a way for someone who likes your work to request a subject or theme they would like you to photograph?
Yes, there's definately a market out there for books on different topics - but you need a different set of tools to create them - a different marketing plan and model to sell them - etc. Lots of players out there - selling various "rights" to books/articles/words - but seems some good solid research is needed to find "the right mix and model" to be successful AND fit with your own image, business image, etc.
Nice answer .. nature photography. And best of luck with your business!! When you get your site up? Find me somewhere here at AB and let me know where it is!! :)

Some are copyrighted as unpublished images, but when I get the ball rolling, protcecting my photos will be of great concern. I've got 500 plus sellable images as of now and I'm hoping people will find something they like amongst them, but requests will be considered and depending on how physically demanding the job might be, I could see myself doing requests. I've got enough classes under my belt to run a small business, putting them to use in the business world may be another story. Finances seems to keep most ideas from happening, hopefully I've got a possible solution to that problem.
