  • I never understood this as a dessert thing...I'd prefer it as an appetizer...but this will do: Sugar and nut glazed brie Brown sugar, walnuts and brandy atop a round of brie baked until ooey gooey and then scooped upon garlic toasted bagel chips...yummo!
  • Port-du-Salut or Entrammes its a mild french cheese and sweet in flavour, really good when eaten with fruit. Wensleydale with cranberries, really tasty it has a crumbly texture and can be eaten with fruitcake or christmas cake.
  • Cottage cheese on fruit.
  • The few times I have been to Europe, it was great. I do once in a while now. I just grab something smelly and expensive. I love cheese and will eat just about any kind. But that's at home. Most restauraunts in the states don't offer it.
  • Not usually, only for special meals like new years or easter or a summer birthday feast. i.e. for dinner parties. A good cheeseboard is a great continental way to round off a large meal and keep your guests, picking and conversing away while they finish of the red wine. A good cheeseboard should comprise of at least 4 cheeses and these cheeses should balance and complement each other: a hard cheese (I would go for a crumbly mature Irish cheddar) a soft cheese (brie is a usual suspect here) a stinky cheese (danish blue or a stilton) and a non cows milk/unusual new cheese (try a pecorino made from sheeps milk). Some crackers/oat cakes should be available to eat with the cheese and some juicy grapes to clear the palate between cheeses and voila! A perfect ending to a dinner party. But for me if I was having cheese as a dessert on my own or with a friend I would go for a slice of Wensleydale (a north yorkshire cheese) with cranberries on a digestive biscuit. Heaven in a bite. Om nom nom nom nom!
  • i eat cheese as mostly a snack :)
  • This is why I can only keep a small amount of cheese in the house at any time. If I buy a big block of cheese (doesn't matter what kind) I'll eat it all the same day. And, I'm guessing that isn't all that healthy. I guess my favorite is sharp cheddar.
