  • That's like asking who will benefit from Frodo destroying the One Ring. At least Tolkien knew he was writing fiction though.
  • No one. The Rapture is pure and utter bullshit, and it has no theological basis.
  • unlike the other answers here of whom I will not critisize although I expect them to critisize me. Although the actuall word "rapture" does not occure in the Bible it is widly accepted among most of the Christian community it the time when Jesus will appear in the clouds and those whom are dead in Christ will be raised first then in a twinkling of an eye (1/300th of a second)those whom are alive will be taken up as well in to Heaven. I will benefit from this because I have accepted and claim Jesus Christ as my Saviour and my name is written in the Lambs Book of Life. There are many of you whom do not want to believe this and that is fine...that is your privilege, but please do not critisize those of us who do believe.
  • Everyone left behind.
  • SHORT ANSWER: There is NO "rapture" in the Bible. Period. However, there IS a "Second Coming." LONG ANSWER: What rapture? The word's not in the Bible nor in any of the available manuscripts. Further, among Post-Millennialists - which was the dominate Eschatological stance prior to Darby (who introduced it) William Miller (who popularized it) and the 19th Century Restorationist movement (who "globbed onto it" and propogated it) - there is NO doctrine of "the rapture." However we DO believe in the "appearance" or "Second Coming" of Christ. That's because the Greek word is "parousia." The closest English rendering of this word would be "appearing." The literal rendering is "to be alongside." In period usage the word was used to describe going outside the walls of the City to acknowledge the appearance of a dignitary and then escort them into back into your City. So it implies a kind of "Royal Escort" once the dignitary appeared. http://www.globalchristians.org/articles/parousia.htm So yes we will be "caught up in the clouds" but it's clear where we're all going - right back down to Earth to escort Christ to His waiting throne in Jerusalem so He can begin his reign and judge the nations. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Coming IMHO, the Millerites and Children of the Millerites - included The Latter Day Saints - are teaching an UNBibical doctrine when they talk about "the rapture." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapture
  • I used to believe 100% percent in the rapture, but I've been reading view points on both sides and they both seem legitimate, I'm not sure where I stand anymore. If you do believe, then obviously the one raptured will benefit. Also if you believe in the tribulation, the only ones who will benefit are the ones who die a martyr in the name of the Lord.
  • Rapture? Is that in the Bible somewhere? I must have missed that one. I DID read something about about Armageddon. I don't think anyone benefits, though!

  • probably everyone can benefit in their own way. If you believe in the rapture; the story goes that anyone who follows Jesus Christ will benefit. I don't know what goes on in Hell, but I think you are tortured. The Bible can be interpreted(sp) infinite ways. Sometimes Churches will tell you that you must take the bible literally, but you can believe whatever you want. You're following the BIBLE; not the man talking at the church. Just pray.
