  • It really ruins music. Children are going to hear curses elsewhere any way. I dont think songs should be damaged to prevent this:(
  • I think offensive language should be censored on the radio and t.v. But on an album that the person actually has to go buy, I think the artist should be responsible enough to censor theirself and not say anything too crazy or too hurtful or too disrespectful and the as long as they are really trying to make good art and not just spread a message of hate, I think the record companines should trust the artist and their vision. Because people always talk about freedom of speech, but number one, that doesnt mean that someone has to publish that speech and number two there are consequences that come along with it. Like you have the freedom to say "i hate black people" or whatever, but think about what might happen to you and people dont want to allow that to happen, especially when it is their record label that is putting it out.
  • Just like anyone has a right to create music, anyone (or any organization) has the right to censor music. What is important is that the government doesn't censor the individual from making the music. He has a right to make it. He doesn't have a right to have it listened to. If a school wants to ban a certain song from the school dance due to the lyrics, they have every right (and in many cases, a duty) to censor the music.
  • Censorship is a violation of freedom of speech. No one is obligated to listen. Radio and TV stations can decide for themselves what they want to air, but I will not be told what I can and cannot listen to in the privacy of my own home or car on my own media equipment.
  • I think it is wrong!
  • I think foul language in any type of media should be censored, but the consumer can have the choice to buy the media uncensored if they so choose. I think public plces should be considerte of everyone's needs and preferences.
