There should be different of categories for backyard wrestling. Some guys have actually gotten to workout in the ring with actual professional wrestlers and know a lot of the ins and outs of the business. So is it wrong for them to put on shows to demonstrate what they've learned? Is it really worth labeling someone as a "Backyarder" because he took what a pro taught him and went to a ring that happened to be in his backyard and built up a show and invited people to come over and watch him and his friends that also know what he knows put on a great show? I don't think so. The categories should be "professional backyard wrestling" (which includes a nice setup, a RING, and something that looks worthy of being on television) and just "backyard wrestling" (done unprofessionally with mattresses, trampolines, and/or the ground to wrestle on and just not a good presentation at all). When u boil it down, all backyard wrestling shouldn't be looked down upon because not all backyarders like to mutilate themselves with barbed wire, light bulbs, tacks, fire, etc. That to me is just ignorant but does deserve respect, because they are doing this to emulate their favorite form of entertainment. Some teenagers have sense enough to know that brutality is not the way to go. The more hardcore this particular sport gets, the more the pro wrestlers are gonna look down upon it and the worse a backyarder's reputation will get because he didn't do it the traditional way and wrestled out of his backyard. That really doesn't matter because as soon as they hear the word backyard in front of wrestling, they just assume with no doubt that there is some form of weaponry being used and someone is getting hurt badly. That's my shoot.................

as far as i am concerned i am a wrestler and the group im with train in a real ring we are trained by a professional and at one point the only place we could have a show was in a backyard but we are trained and we do not consider ourselves backyard wrestlers...just because someone can body slam or Suplex someone,or can take a chair shot or go through a table that doesn't make you a wrestler.....it takes more than what you see on tv, it also requires psychology....i mean a 110 lb guy isn't going to pick up a 400 lb guy and slam him through a table.....so yes it is unprofessional but as far as brutal i have seen worse even on a pro circuit look at czw (combat zone wrestling) they do far worse.....but if some of these backyard guys and girls get some real training they could do awesome and maybe even make it big but as far as the way they are right now personally i would not even consider them wrestlers
