  • Yes, but the model was experimental NASA-like research not a "toy". Solid fuel rockets for "toy" rockets is used due to the energy to weight ratio and the fact that they are safer (not meaning safe) than liquid engines. Those who have gotten higher ratings on their rocketry licensing (yes there are classes where experts can legally play with bigger rockets) may have built their own liquid fueled rockets.
