  • The milk from all the dairies are mixed together at the milk bottling plant. Then the milk and fat are separated, the fat can be used for other dairy product or added back into the milk at the required % prior to homogenisation. There are no additives (other than vitamins in some milks) added in Australia.
  • To make 2% and skim (non-fat) milk, they simply remove all of the fat content. For 2% milk, some of that content is re-added back to the milk. There is no additive to make it non-fat or low-fat.   • Actually anything that is added is an additative. Vitamin D is added because the Cows are stuck indoors and can't produce Vitamin D on their own. Vitamin A is added because it is lost in the homogenization. You're essentially drinking multivitamins which are synthesized by drug companies.
