Little Miss Dangerous

Question

Help answer this question below.

Currently, the highest rated answer is listed (& read) 1st, propagating points. In long threads, many later posts never even get read. Wouldn't it make more sense to reverse the order, allowing for a truer evaluation of ALL the answers to the question?

I would think the best system could list the top three answers first so that the best answers could be easily read and then list newer answers. Just seems like that system would work the best.

I think it makes sense to put the highest rated answer first; however, I do miss all the answers displaying on a SINGLE page. The multiple page thing just doesn't work for me.

No, because evaluation of answers is not as important as having correct answers to questions.

Keep in mind that AB doesn't ultimately exist for people to ask questions and get points for giving answers to them. Ultimatley, AB allows for anybody to go on a search engine, type in a question, and find the answer to it. Try it. Go to Google and ask it a question. Typically, a site like AB, Yahoo! Answers, or Google Answers will show up in the results. The site also provides for a medium for people who can't properly use a search engine to get help finding answers. These people need to see the best answers and are not going to be willing to scroll or click to find the info they want.

Us ABers, on the other hand, know how the site works and know that you may have to scroll or click to evaluate answers. And I'm not saying that evaluation of answers is not important. It is! It's just that it should not be a problem for us to take a couple of extra steps so that first-timers can get what they need, thus making AB a more popular site.

I do not like the multiple page idea you know if your answer is not on the first page nobody is going to read it. It is true that the first answers in have a much higher chance of collecting all the points.

I do not know of any other way of doing it it has been this way since before I joined , older members would have a better idea of what works
