I have a 3 way fireplace; it goes into 3 different rooms so I either place it on the kitchen side of the fireplace on the hearth, or on the office side on the hearth.

I have my husband carry mine. It will either be on his shoulder or in his lap. I like for my cell phone and such to be very convenient to me, even at home.

I put mine on top of fridge freezer as its set back in an alcove and is tall so not obvious to the eye, if at all. Course I just told you all so now you know nooooo. Plus my son cant reach it hee hee

I noticed that none of the answerers said "On the entry table", which is all to common a place where many women drop their purses and keys as they enter the home.
Thieves are aware that many women do this. Will cruise a neighborhood, go up to the open front door --especially during warmer weather-- see if the purse is there and reach in, grab it and take off.
Another common place is just to leave it sitting on the front seat of the car in an garage where the arriving homeowner didn't bother to shut the garage door.
The heads-up warning was reported to the public in our local newspaper in New Jersey, where such successful thievery was occurring at a high rate.

LOL I use to do that too. And then I decided one day that if there was a fire in that room I couldn't get to my purse. So now I put it in the bedroom in the evening and on the floor in the livingroom during the day. +6
