If it's a LAN connection at your house then your security encryption might be on the wrong setting (ex. if you're using 32 bit and ps3 needs 64 bit or whatnot)
You may also need to register your ps3 mac address on your system with your security. Sometimes a device will not be allowed to access without proper id first.
