I'm not sure why exactly I prefer FF, though the tabbed browsing was a huge novelty until IE7, but I've been so indoctrinated on AB that I have to agree with this answer!
Agreed.
Glary utilities, I'm still finding out how to use it. whenever my PC starts acting up I run Glary.

OpenOfice rocks yo! I tell all my clients - if you find MS Office to be too expensive for your situation, give OpenOffice a try. I still get thank yous for showing it to them, plus I get to show it off as part of my Ubuntu Linux demo (it comes in a variety for all OSes).
I agree. My PC didn't come with MS Office so I downloaded OpenOffice. Works pretty much the same really. Quite pleased with it :)
OpenOffice rocks. In my opinion the biggest drawback is the inability to open .mdb databases natively without importing- and of course there are almost no programs that can do that other than Access. AFAIK even MSSQL imports them or uses them as a data source.
Many advanced spreadsheet functions such as pivottables / datapilots work *better* in OpenOffice. Certainly, IMO the OpenOffice interface is miles ahead of that of MS Office. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend using either suite to set up a database initially. Better to use a full-feature DB engine like MySQL, SQLite, MSSQL Server, or similar and then connect to it through your database client of choice (Access, OOBase, Kexi, Navicat, etc). I can't speak to the other programs in either office suite as I don't use word processors- I type marked-up text in an editor and then use LaTEX or an HTML browser or other parser to format it. I *sort of* understand what PowerPoint is for, but the idea causes me to recoil in horror. Yikes! Ick. Answer 7 out of 108 by raghu77 on Oct 4, 2007 at 11:07 am Permalink
