  • First you have to be playing while in high school and either with your high school team or, if there is not one, on a Connie Mack team. Second your grades have to be decent enough to play and good enough to get into a college, you have to get at least a 700 on the SAT or a comprable score on your ACT. If you have talent for the game then coaches will start scouting you and possibly contacting you. You can also send in tapes of yourself like a highlight tape that way you get exposed to the coach of the school that you would like to attend. As the coaches scout you, they will contact your coach and possible yourself, they will set up a time where you can take a recruiting trip to see the campus, meet the other coaches and players and get a feel for the school. If they want you and you want go there they will send packages and have you sign a letter of intent. Keep in mind that Baseball scholarships are limited at any school, they are allowed 11.7 scholarships, therefor not even the best of the best get full rides sometimes. You can also walk-on to a program and earn a scholarship by your production on the field and hard work. The best way to get a full ride is to get an academic scholarship to go with the athletic one.
