Hey, I'll be the first to admit that Vista in its current state likely has plenty of flaws that need fixing. But once those flaws are fixed, Vista is a much better operating system than XP (at least on paper). To suggest that Vista is just an upgrade to XP is ridiculous.

By the way - that doesn't mean I like Vista. It just means I'd rather be fair about it than bash it because that's the cool thing to do. A lot of people come to this site for sound advice and they're certainly not getting it from certain answers and comments in this thread.

Who here agrees that someone asked a loaded question?

- From this, it does sound like MS has remained true to form with its OS releases. Once again they have released an OS that was not ready and will have to be patched later. Thanks all the same. I'll stick with a Mac.

Ooh do you mean how it's like xp with little upgrade, more expencive and will make sure anyone who wants to wreck your cpu able too? Yes!

I do. It appears that msFortunate aggrees with this as well. Karl Plesz and Final_Starman don't seem to like Vista either, but it's not so clear whether they agree that it's “…just swiss cheese with a _lot_ of holes”.

- I had a beta copy of Ultimate about a month before it was slated for release. Of course, I was running it on a system with 2 gig of RAM...but for the first few minutes (while I was awed by the pretty colors) it was pretty nice to look at. TO LOOK AT. Sure, the redone Spider Solitaire is cool...but...nice try, Bill. Next time build us something a little more useful

Yes, it's full of holes, it's true. There are a lot of bugs that need to be fixed. But I like cheese, and Vista's growing on me.
