This is a hard question to answer because if you look at statistics and think about the job most illegals do the ones the people who are truly being affected are those with low paying low skill jobs. Looking at all of the rest of the industrialized world one must take into account we are not unique in England you have Indians Africans etc, same thing with Germany and France. Essentially , we would be shooting ourselves in the foot by doing this because we would have to pay more money for certain goods and services this would make the cost of living go up everywhere increase poverty put certain companies out of business and in some cases cause off shoring and outsourcing.

I sure wish we could. There are just too many of them. Until the US government secures our borders and comes down on the employers who hire illegal's, we could deport all of them and they would just come back.

Well when you get down to brass tacks... Anyone who isn't an american indian is technically an illegal.

You don't have to physically haul them out. What you can do is make the USA an unattractive place for illegals to live by requiring proper legal residency status papers to get an apartment, buy a house, get a license, ID, food stamps, buy or rent a car, or do any sort of day to day life function. Many will flock back as they already have during this economic downturn. Take away what made America attractive to them in the first place and they will go home on their own to the land they love so much. The very land who's flag often gets flown in place of old glory on our own soil. That land they talk about being so glorious. Let them go back.

If they are here illegally then they should be forced to leave. And while we're on the subject...if they come here legally to live...and go through proper channels then they should HAVE to learn to speak English. I don't think it's fair that WE have to learn their language. They're in OUR country. Unless, they are legal...they shouldn't be allowed to work, get a driver's license or get any kind of aid at all...as these are for our CITIZENS...I'm tired of seeing our priviledges taken by someone who isn't even supposed to be here. It's time we look out for our own.

YES! This country is for those that are willing to work to be here. I feel anyone truly wanting to be here should learn English and what this country is about. I understand many people in other countries are unhappy, but look at all of the people that are not allowed to come here, even after educating themselves to be here. How fair is that?

Sure...if you're willing to be hauled out as well, if you are not Native American. If you want to talk about geographic encroachment - the White European colonists were FAR more brutish and disruptive to the preexisting American civilizations, than modern Mexicans are to modern Americans.

from an economics perspective, not many of them. there are some good, hard-working folks who, if we legalized them, could pay taxes into social security and medicare, extending the life of these programs from 2015 and 2029 to 2025 and 2045. now, if you are asking about the disproportionately high number of illegal aliens who are in jail or prison or ARE RELEASED, no. we should ship them back immediately, which would pay for 1/3 of california's debt. the extra taxes collected would pay for the rest and it would reduce california's need for spending. instead of that stupid fence which the mexicans are already tunneling under, we should learn from our friends the israelis and build a concrete wall 20' high and 10 feet deep at least right now!!!

I think if you're here just to take advantage of what the US has to offer, like making your unborn child a citizen, then yes. But if you came here to work and honestly become an American, I think that's great. I don't like it when people take advantage of coming here, just to hate on Americans and refuse to change their culture and lifestyle a tiny bit. If they like they're culture so much and hate ours, they should go back.

The immigration laws are very strict and there is very many almost impossible tests to pass,and people that are useful to society are not allowed legally into the country. Consider the growth of the migrant workers in California.Most of them were probably illegal but they received very low wages that kept the price of fruits and vegetables very low. Many cannot speak English and it is a hard language to learn,especially when one is uneducated. If the illegals were hauled out food prices would double or triple.The hospitality industry hires illegals to clean rooms,so then if they are gone the price of rooms would go up.There are many more examples.
