    Denim .. it feels better on my skin, especially well worn denim.
    Velvet is a bit stiff, not of the softest texture and too thick feeling.

    Velvet is soft and denim is more fashionable to ware....So for texture its velvet, and for everyday ware denim is the winner.

    If it's for work or casual wear, denim because it's durable and comfortable while being easy to wash.. If it's for a jacket for the cold, or evening, velvet because it's soft and I love the feel of it.
