Heh, I hate the stereotypes that all death metal is "Satan music". I personally don't care about the lyrical message in metal, because it's usually not too profound or insightful (exception : Opeth). My view is basically the more metal, the better. By Christian death metal, I assume you're talking about new bands like Destroy the Runner? Hey, whatever floats your boat...

The last thing any of us need is to have people handing out religious pamphlets at Deicide concerts or whatever.

Honestly, do whatever you want, but I find it laughable when I think of a Christian screaming "I LOVE JESUS HARDCORE!" or whatever is in those lyrics. For me, death metal /is/ a lot about the lyrics and the music adds that angry tone. What's the point of the angry music if you're preaching about treating others as they would treat you, and loving God and all the rest of that?

i think its stupid not because i hate christians or anything like that but i just dont see how they can be christian death metal when death metal is about DEATH hence the name death metal and when a band takes the sound of death metal and changes the lyrical style that death metal has and strays to christian topics then it is no longer death metal. who can influence these bands anyway? are they allowed to listen to stuff like cannibal corpse or deicide? doesnt that go against christian "views" to listen to that type of music?

I'm a metal head and I think it's garbage. Christian music should not mix with metal.I listen to cannibal corpse and cattle decapitation and it's the complete opposite of christian music.

I am in a metal band, my music is influenced heavily by my Christian background and I think that christian death metal is definatly a strong part of modern music. The people who say different can come listen to REAL metal whenever they wanna shut their mouths :) Stitched & Restrained Rules!

hmmm well I think death metal is called death metal for the lyrical content so how could there be death metal that was christian? Shouldn't it be called Life Metal, or Light (as in the holy light)Metal or Holy Metal or something?

As for me, I don't oppose it but I can't undertsnad the lyrics in lots of the gutteral hardcore death metal nowdays anyways so I guess if they were talking about jesus it wouldn't matter, cuz I wouldn't know...as long as the music was good I guess it would be alright..I wouldn't go seeking it out though. Though I have to admit a death metal cover of "Lord I lift thy name on high" might be a good laugh....

I think its cool, because the Christian faith discourages listening to secular music. But some people (like Slayer) can't stand to listen to the mellow tones of the common Christian music.

Therefore, I think its cool that Christian people can listen to music that they enjoy but doesn't go against their faith.

It's the musical equivalent of a veggie burger, designed and manufactured to market an agenda to susceptible undecided consumers and to cater to posers and fence straddlers who deeply regret their lifestyle choices.

    Where's the beef?

i like it. thought whether you like it or not is based on your personality type. I wouldn't call myself a metal head, but I do like some of that kind of music. Slipknot is probably a good example of what I am talking about
