  • I would not be bothered...
  • Id say "sweet"! MEow, agnostically yours
  • Isn't it?
  • Put the shoe on the other foot...what if you non-believers in the Bible found out it is nonfiction and very true?
  • I would say out loud "So.. I was right all along."
  • I'd put it on the fiction shelf next to 'The Collapsium' and 'The Forever War.'
  • it is, isn't it. Shit, are you trying to tell me it's real? :p
  • I already believe that much of it is...
  • Well, since our concept of time itself is essentially a fiction (see Einstein's theory of relativity), I don't think it really matters. What's real can be fiction, what's fiction can seem real. Reality is a relative concept folks.
  • The bible isn't all fictional. Particularly, the old testament is historically accurate.
  • Wow, that would sure put a damper on things for some people. I already think it's fictional. You have to consider the level of intelligence way back then.
  • i worhsip God and if I found out the Bible was fictional, it wouldnt have much bearing on my beliefs at all. because I dont worship the bible. nor do i worship religion. i worship God. I know that the bible wasnt written directly by God. and I already feel that much of it is either symbolic and metaphorical or greatly exagerrated in order to get a point across. so if i found out it was fiction, which i dont know how that would be proven, i would just assume it was a big book of stories meant to give us morals (dont do this or something bad will happen, if you do good things, good things will happen, etc.) that was inspired by God.
  • I already discovered it was fictional and felt just fine afterwards
  • Well if it is,id love to meet the nut who came up with all the nonsense in the first place
  • I already think it is.
  • How I read the bible is directly related to what Jesus says. As a result, I've had some pretty profound experiences. To discover the bible was fictional...hmmm... I tend to be quite the metaphysician so I would probably come up with something about the energy in it having to do with the millions of people who have engaged it over time. But I don't interpret the bible as strictly literal so I think it would be less freaky for me. (I'm also not Christian)
  • I have already figured out that the bible is fiction, so nothing will change.
  • I got about half way through the old testament and read a bit in there about how you can trust God but you can't trust man. On that basis I figured out that seeing as it was penned, edited, translated, printed and sold by man the bible itself could not be trusted. I then felt pure freedom as I realised it must be fiction and I could stop being confused by it's many contradictions. Happy with that conclusion I looked around some more and discovered Deism, which is good because I believe in God (as a symbol of life-force) but not all that supernatural woo-woo that other religions try to get you to buy that goes along with God.
  • It's a great thing if you find out the truth as an unhappy believer. ;-)
  • The same thing I did when I found out it was fiction the first time - keep living my life.
  • As an Ordained Pastor ; I've read the King james Edition of the Holy Bible from cover to cover at least THREE times ... I began Bible Study course at age FIVE and continued thru age 18 .... NOW: My personal feelings is that the Bible MAY have been written by mortal man thru Divine Inspiration of GOD .... BUT: I Most Definately believe that MUCH of Man's own thoughts and ideas got filtered in along with the Inspirations of God .... There is SO much of the Bible that just does not fit in with todays way of living etc .... Like: A wonan should MARRY her Rapist or be killled. OR: Adulters (BOTH OF THEM) should be put to death ... OR: A Woman should be silent in Church OR: Children who swear etc at their parents should be KILLED. ... and there are several MORE such verses that just do not make much sense .... and portions of the Bible that leave a lot of information OUT .... Then; we have the Secret Gospel of Mark that indiciates that Jesus had an illicit affair with a young MAN that He ressurected ... Maybe He DID .. I could care less .. BUT that book, "The Secret Gospel of Mark" is REMOVED from the Bible as we know it today .... You CAN GOOGLE IT !! Anyway ; if I foun out the Bible was Fiction ; I really would NOT be too surprised ...
  • I wouldn't be suprised
  • It's not but if I came to believe that many would not be happy with the outcome.
  • I would do a happy dance and scream "I told you so!!!"
  • I did long time ago through reasoning and painstaking research and my life didn't fall apart.
  • most likely mainy parts of the bible are fictional, but if there was ever hard evidence many parts of our society would change and change rapidly, many parts of our government and just way of life would change much further then you would think. for instance holidays, no more christmas, no more churches, everything.
  • Too late. Already found that out.
  • I won't.
  • I won't.
