Myspace appears to be quite poppular with up and coming bands! Try there!

Give them a raise, and call them 'artists'.

Myspace.com, Purevolume.com, Grageband.com...there are many sites for not-yet-famous-but-will-be-one-day bands.

Get yourself a gen-set, take the band into a mall or chuck them on the back of a truck and drive down the street (a la AC/DC's "It's A Long Way To The Top") and start playing. I always wanted to do that.
