Do you think displaying the Confederate flag, as opposed to the stars and bars, is unpatriotic or un-American? Why or why not?

You're reading Whether Betsy Ross did or didn't make it, isn't the American Flag a great piece of graphic design, as modern today as it was in 1776?
Comments
A bit warlike for my taste, but very graphic. I like the colors.

If you read the symbolism of the American Flag you'll understand its just a "warlike" just not as well designed or overt.

The symbolism of the US flag is actually quite straightforward. THe 13 stripes represent the original 13 colonies that came together to form the new nation. The blue rectangle in the upper left is called the Union. The original flag had a circle of 13 stars in it representing the states of the union, and stars were added as each new territory became a state. The union now has 50 stars. There are other Flok theories of hidden symbolism, but those stated were the ideas that drove the design and adoption as the nation's flag.

"White represents purity and innocence; red represents hardiness and valor; and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice."

Thanks. Those seem like goodqualities for a nation.
