Help answer this question below.

How would Christians feel if I went into the Christian section (which is different than the general religion section) and started answering questions that they should pray to Isis or Hermes and cast a spell?

I saw what happened AR, and yes, I think many of them would be offended. Seriously though, I'd ignore it, anyone silly enough to suggest praying to the Holy Spirit in the Wiccan category obviously need a bit of educating.

- I think most people never even noticed the category, it was on the front page and they responde in kind. That's how I came across it, I was not out looking for a Wiccan to piss off!

Uh ohhhh, do I sense that you've had a rough day on the AB Holy Wars front? I don't think anybody should force their beliefs on anyone religious or not. Seriously, what is wrong with people?

- Well, we have answers in the Wicca section about praying to God to receive the Holy Spirit. I guess that means they have no problem with me going into the Christian section and talk about invoking the elementals, right? I'd hate to think that some hypocrisy existed...

I would find it disrespectful, but at the same time funny. I'm not really a hard core christian though, actually I'm a christian in name only. I find some of the things they preach hard to take as 100% truth.

- No offense to christians, but they seem to be a lot less openminded than wiccans. They tend to get all uptight about an innocent comment. I meant I would find it offensive if you used those topics to try to mock christianity. In all honesty I think that all people should have an open mind to all religions. Plus knowledge is power.

I would feel offended because I would be under the impression that Christian section was for Christians and their answers.

If I was a different faith I would restrict my comments to topics that are generalized or seeking outside opinions.

There's a reason they have catagories (though I always browse the main page and don't notice the catagory until I read the question).

- That's what I figured. Those people have no respect and no tact. Hopefully they made a mistake and didn't notice the catagories, but I highly doubt it.
  
  I'm Christian, but I think it needs to be balanced. I know this guy that runs around town with Jesus on his shirt and coat and shouting at people to find Jesus, I respect his conviction, but do not approve of his "preaching" methods.

I think that it must be ok. I mean, in the absence of hypocrisy, that means that it is ok for me to answer a Christian section question from a Wiccan perspective. I think twupfold should answer from a Satanic perspective. Atheists, Hindus, Buddhists, etc...same thing.

"How do I get God to forgive me?"

Oh, hey, Yahweh doesn't exist, and His myths paint Him as distinctly evil. I think the better question is, "How does Yahweh get you to forgive Him?"

- Abbyguy: I'm not proposing asking a question, but answering that way. Wolfen: This is in response to several Christians coming out into the Wiccan section and answering a question asking for a protection spell with the advice to pray to Yahweh and invite the Holy Spirit into you.
