I would think it is because tax payers are paying for those computers to be used for educational purposes and not social interaction.

asides from the lack of educational value that myspace has, I would bet it's because of the content. Basically once rejected from the porn industry they all seem to turn to myspace.

Predators, of the sexual nature and/or not, homocidial maniacs, maniacs in general, weirdos. And it MAY have something to do with the fact that Myspace has absolutely nothing to do with the learning experience.

I agree with them being blocked. I would not let my child create a MySpace account, therefore I would not want them to have access to it at school and create it there. The content is questionable and that is something schools do not want to be responsible for... access to questionable content. "Tonight at 10... Child abducted after being pursued through MySpace which the child accessed on a regular basis at school." Terrible headline to have to hear on the news...
